Warm Bath

A length of green bamboo reaches over the rim, and water spills from its cut end in a steady, glassy thread. Where it meets the pool, the surface dimples and sends out small rings. It is the same sound it has made all day, and will make all night.

How it works

Every moment begins with the same option: Stay a while. It lingers where you are, with nothing to decide, and every path is still open afterward. Beyond that, up to three ways onward. Some circle back; two lead home, each with its own postcard.
