Warm Bath

The air cools, and a light rain begins. The drops make tiny craters on the surface, and the steam thickens to meet them. The rain on your face is cool and the water around you is warm, and the two together are better than either. It lasts a few minutes, then moves on over the trees.

How it works

Every moment begins with the same option: Stay a while. It lingers where you are, with nothing to decide, and every path is still open afterward. Beyond that, up to three ways onward. Some circle back; two lead home, each with its own postcard.
