Warm Bath

You sit on the smooth stone rim of the bath. The water is clear and faintly green, and its warmth rises to meet you before you touch it. You let your feet down first. Heat climbs slowly from your ankles upward, unhurried, as if it has all evening.

How it works

Every moment begins with the same option: Stay a while. It lingers where you are, with nothing to decide, and every path is still open afterward. Beyond that, up to three ways onward. Some circle back; two lead home, each with its own postcard.
