Warm Bath

A stone lantern stands at the bend of the path, its small window glowing with a candle someone lit before you came. A moth circles it twice, then settles on the warm stone roof. The light is soft enough that you can still see the sky beyond it, pale at the edges.

How it works

Every moment begins with the same option: Stay a while. It lingers where you are, with nothing to decide, and every path is still open afterward. Beyond that, up to three ways onward. Some circle back; two lead home, each with its own postcard.
