Warm Bath

Flat stones lead through low moss, each one set a comfortable stride from the last. They are still warm from the afternoon. The trickle grows clearer with every step, and the steam ahead thins and thickens as the air moves. To one side, a small garden opens between a maple and a pine.

How it works

Every moment begins with the same option: Stay a while. It lingers where you are, with nothing to decide, and every path is still open afterward. Beyond that, up to three ways onward. Some circle back; two lead home, each with its own postcard.
