Warm Bath

A bamboo ladle rests across the basin. When you lift it, a thin stream falls back and breaks the reflection of the maple into pieces. You wait, and the pieces gather themselves into leaves again. The basin overflows by a single drop, and then another.

How it works

Every moment begins with the same option: Stay a while. It lingers where you are, with nothing to decide, and every path is still open afterward. Beyond that, up to three ways onward. Some circle back; two lead home, each with its own postcard.
