Warm Bath

You watch the steam a while longer. It never makes the same shape twice, and it never stops making shapes. A curl rises, opens like a hand, and lets go of itself. The air above the bath is full of small beginnings and endings, all of them quiet.

How it works

Every moment begins with the same option: Stay a while. It lingers where you are, with nothing to decide, and every path is still open afterward. Beyond that, up to three ways onward. Some circle back; two lead home, each with its own postcard.
