Warm Bath

On the far side of the bath, a maple leans out over the water, its lowest branch close enough to touch. The light here is dimmer and greener, and the stone beneath the surface slopes into a ledge that makes a natural seat. From here you can see the whole bath at once, and the steam moving across it.

How it works

Every moment begins with the same option: Stay a while. It lingers where you are, with nothing to decide, and every path is still open afterward. Beyond that, up to three ways onward. Some circle back; two lead home, each with its own postcard.
