Warm Bath

You stay by the gate a while. A breeze moves the steam one way, then the other. The trickle of water never changes its pace. A sparrow lands on the top rail, considers you, and leaves again. The path will still be there whenever you feel like walking it.

How it works

Every moment begins with the same option: Stay a while. It lingers where you are, with nothing to decide, and every path is still open afterward. Beyond that, up to three ways onward. Some circle back; two lead home, each with its own postcard.
