You keep watching. The rings reach the stone edge and fold back on themselves, crossing the new ones coming out. For a moment the surface holds a pattern too fine to describe. Then it is just water again, and then the pattern returns.

How it works

Every moment begins with the same option: Stay a while. It lingers where you are, with nothing to decide, and every path is still open afterward. Beyond that, up to three ways onward. Some circle back; two lead home, each with its own postcard.
